Adobe vs. Apple (AKA Are you crazy Mr. Jobs!)
There has been a lot of things written on the topic of Apple's refusal to allow the Flash pug-in on any of the apple "I" products. Here is a quick overview of events so far.
- Apple claims that Adobe is lazy in the development of Flash and is responsible for most of the crash's on Mac computers and Apple will never support flash content on their mobile devices.
- Adobe decided to take matter's into their own hands and work around this by making flash capable apps that would then be available on the app store. (currently some are available).
- Adobe then would make it even easier for developers by programming a iPhone compiler into Flash CS5.
- Apple countered with the announcement that the new OS4 for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, will only allow apps written in a native program language in order to preserve the quality of the experience and also the quality of the apps. (they must no have visited the app store lately)
In order to not bore you with all the details I will leave it at this and just explain the ramifications for the consumers and developers. Read More...
The Great Debate: Mac vs. PC
So which should you buy? I Will once and for all not settle this debate, however I think I can give some direction to allow you to buy what is right for you. I use both a Mac and a PC (Windows) computer on a daily basis and have some definite opions. In fact I teach in a room that is equiped with 20 MacPros and 4 PC's. My lab is Mac based because that is the industry standard and my students need to learn how to use them. My first computer was a Mac Plus back in the mid 90's. I also started using a PC for graphics in the mid 90's. I say this only so you can get an idea where I am coming from.
OK, down to the "nitty gritty", which should you buy? Read More...
